Created by Sharon Gannon and David Life, Jivamukti Yoga is one of the nine internationally recognised styles of Yoga and is hailed as the most comprehensive Yoga class in the world! It blends classical yoga teachings as relevant to one’s life on and off the mat, drawn from the Jivamukti Focus of the Month, with modern movement practices that will see you sweat through strength, conditioning, functional training and stretching. Expect energising vinyāsa sequences powerfully connecting the breath to movement through standing poses, forward bends, twists and alignment exploration, relaxation, meditation and chanting. Even learn the keys to unlocking more intricate shapes in your body, such as inversions, backbends and arm balances. Exuberant, eclectic music plays an integral role.

It is fast paced and invigorating and is certainly a “get-in-shape” class, but make a commitment to attend Jivamukti Yoga classes and observe yourself progress to more challenging asana while having a laugh or two, your practice will thrive, your energy will expand and your life will transform!

Beginning level students should know that there will not be much detailed “how to do” descriptions; for that a student is advised to attend a Hatha or Vinyasa 101 Yoga Class, however modifications are given to keep your practice steady and joyful. The length is 75 minutes.
